Chicken Liver Pate

Serves: 1
  • 250g chicken livers
  • 6 strips of bacon - cut into small pieces
  • 1 onion - diced
  • 3 large boiled eggs
  • 2 cloves of garlic - crushed
  • 50g butter
  • 1 tsp butter for cooking
  • Salt & pepper
  1. Heat a frying pan on a medium heat and add butter.
  2. When butter is melted add the diced onion and cook until they are browned. Stir with a wooden spoon. Onions should be ready in approx 10 mins. Once browned put them on a plate
  3. Add bacon, garlic and liver and cook for 8-10 mins or until livers are browned
  4. Add all the ingredients I.e. boiled eggs, onions, butter, etc into a food blender. Blend the mixture until it becomes a smooth pate
  5. Put the blended pate into a dish lined with butter and put into a fridge to reduce the temperature until the fat hardens.
  6. Serve with carrot sticks or sliced cucumbers
