Why Are So Many People Fat?
Most people eat what is known as the ‘Standard Western Diet’, which is also known as the ‘Standard American Diet’ (SAD) – this is a diet based around eating refined carbohydrates (mostly sugar and grains e.g. pasta), which provide few nutrients, yet high amounts of calories. Worst of all is these types of foods encourage food cravings in our brain, because we never feel full. 10-20 minutes after eating people are hungry again, and so end up eating again, often reaching for a snack – and this cycle continues throughout the day. This results in people overeating, and becoming fat.

Frequently feeling hungry i.e. not being fully satiated, results in people snacking throughout the day – often on junk food such as biscuits, crisps, cookies, etc. People find it difficult t control their eating – their cravings. So it’s no surprise that so many people end up overweight.
Overweight people are frequently blamed for being fat. They’re told to cut back on the amount they eat and exercise – and nearly every overweight person at some time or other has tried exactly that – and failed. The truth is it is not their fault that they struggle with their weight. They have been lied to for decades, misled by so called experts, including doctors and dieticians. Even worse, the food industry has not only lied to them, but they have have encouraged their cravings e.g. putting sugars into much of our foods – even most breads!
The real reasons why people have become overweight has been hidden from them. The Industrial Food Companies and Big Pharma are only interested in making money – so it suits them to have people overeating on poor quality (highly processed) foods (which are cheap to manufacture) and encourage cravings for even more food, and then to fill them full of various pills when they eventually become sick from diet related diseases. Having a population of slim, healthy people is not in their interests – it hurts their profits. They want people hungry – grazing on food throughout the day like a cow.
Eat The Right Food
Our ancestors were not obese, nor did the suffer from many of the chronic diseases that plague the Western world. They did not have food cravings. They ate a diet that was natural to them – they did not eat refined carbs or sugar (apart from the occasional piece of fruit or honey – which was a rare treat).
They ate nutrient dense foods, natural fats, protein and vegetables. Their bodies ran on fat for energy, not glucose (sugar) like most people do now. They would eat a low carb diet
If you switch to the arthritis diet then you too will lose fat and achieve a slim toned body and drastically reduce your risk of developing diet related diseases. The arthritis diet is healthy and satiating – you won’t feel hungry on it – you won’t crave foods, so you won’t overeating throughout the day. It is a way of eating that promotes fat burning.
The paleo diet limits the intake of carbohydrates – which helps combat inflammation and so benefits your health. It also promises to revert type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as improve your energy levels and sleep quality — all while causing drastic weight loss if that is your goal.
What Do You Eat On The Paleo Diet?
The paleo diet restricts carbohydrate consumption relative to the average diet. Foods high in carbohydrates are limited, and replaced with foods containing a higher percentage of fat and protein, as well as low carbohydrate foods. So you will restrict carbohydrates, mainly those found in sugary foods, pasta, and bread. Instead of eating carbs, you eat whole foods including natural proteins, fats, and vegetables.
The paleo diet can help you lose weight, strengthen your immune system, plus will result in better health and more energy.
On the paleo diet most of your carbs will come from vegetables and lower glycaemic foods each day. If your goal is weight loss, or treating a metabolic disease then initially you should aim for under 50g of carbohydrate – this will promote fat burning.
You will avoid unhealthy high carbohydrate foods include pancakes, cookies, bread products, potatoes, ready to eat cereals, milkshakes, ice-cream, cereal bars, cake, pies, muffins, sweetened canned fruits, sugary drinks, fruit juices, corn chips, potato chips and candies.
Fact is your body doesn’t actually need any carbohydrates – yes, it’s surprising, but it’s true. However, we are not saying you shouldn’t eat carbs – if you want to then you can, since they have some benefits. For example, carbs from fruit and vegetables have lots of vitamins and minerals that’s good for your body.
